So they did finally show up today. Early. Which pisses me off because they told me they weren't going to be here until 2:30. And then they didn't fix what they were supposed to before staining. So when I called the owner he suddenly told me he couldn't fix it. I said, "No, you told my husband you could fix it, now fix it." Then he tried to tell me it would be a darker patch of concrete. I told him I didn't care. So he caved and said he'd call the crew and tell them to get some patch stuff....oh yeah, they weren't here when I got here, they had "Gone to the store to get rollers." It's now 4PM, they haven't been here since I got home at 2:30.
What I'll be interested to see is if they patch it and then restain it, because they're going to have to wait for the new concrete to dry. I have a feeling they'll be coming back...again. I still owe this guy half of his money...and he didn't even know how much I owe him. He tried to up the price of the job by $300 when he talked to Kendall. Good thing I kept the paper he wrote the estimate on. Then he didn't remember I'd already paid him half and tried to ask us for the full amount again. I reminded him that he already cashed our check. What a retard.
Oh yeah, and he's not getting paid until we're satisfied...or maybe I'll wait an extra three weeks. He made us wait that long over his initial time projection. Oh yeah, and I think he's going to have to call me for the check. It's only fair since I had to call him to get him to even come out again....
Musings and opinions on a life filled with work, a husband, a toddler, a newborn and two crazy dogs.

Don't EVER use this concrete guy
Okay, so while I'm still all riled up I figured I'd write this nasty-gram right now. Don't EVER use StampIt! concrete and patio. They suck. Not only did they get concrete all over our fountain and Japanese maple, they also have to repair part of what they poured. On top of that, they poured our patio over 4 weeks ago. They were supposed to be back 2 weeks ago to stain and seal it. We NEVER heard from them. I finally called the guy last week and he didn't get back to me until I called him again this Wednesday.
He was supposed to show up today to finish the job and just called Kendall to tell him he probably isn't coming today. And there is no time left for him to come without Kendall or I having to take a day off of work! So who knows if it will ever get done.
It's just the most unprofessional person we've worked with on home improvement. This is even worse than the roofers that damaged our landscaping, at least they paid for that damage. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Does Anyone Know Someone From Vermont?
Do they own a Subaru? As we were driving down our street this evening we saw a Subaru Outback with Vermont plates, which made us laugh out loud. It reminded us of our trip up to Burlington several years ago. While there we felt extremely out of place in our Ford Explorer. We counted Subarus one time and had a count of 30 in a matter of a minute. Plus, everyone up there own a yellow snow jacket. It was those to things that really cinched the deal for us on not moving to Vermont.
Other random things to note....
Kendall and I succeeded in seeing 5 movies at the show, 4 movies at home, a trip to the Newport Aquarium, Dave and Busters, the Airforce Museum, dinner at Benihanna's, a round of minature golf, family portraits, dinner with friends, a canoe trip, and our insemination in the matter of 9 days. It was quite the whirlwind. To fit the last two movies in we did a double feature at the dollar movies and regular show after we had gone canoeing that morning. It was a great vacation...and we didn't even have to leave town to do most of it!
My niece is almost a month old. I will have to get a new picture of her to post on here. She looks a lot like her daddy. She even makes the same faces he does when he's sleeping or when he's irritated. It's really funny. It's mostly because of her lips, which are just like Dathan's. It's cute.
I'm ready for fall. I can't take this heat anymore and all of my cute sweaters are calling my name. It's time for a wardrobe rotation!

Work, work, work
Just thought I'd let you all know that I've been crazy busy going to school every day this week unpacking and making copies and stuff like that. Of course, in between we've all been shooting the sh*t and having some good laughs. I've met several of my students and they seem nice enough.
I really have nothing exciting to blog about at this point. I just didn't want to get harrassed. =)

I'm Still Here
Viki noted that I haven't posted in a few days, and I'm still here, but we've been really busy. Kendall has been on vacation since the 5th, hence why I haven't blogged, because we've been trying to cram as much fun into one week as it possible. Plus we've had a lot of family visiting!
My dad was here for the weekend. We had a marathon visit with them, starting with the Newport Aquarium. We walked that thing for like 3 hours. Then we headed over to Dave and Busters for an hour to kill time before we went to Benihanna's for dinner. My brother and sister had never been to a Japanese steak house before so they had a great time watching the chef cook our food at the table. After dinner we headed back north to Dayton and caught a 9pm showing of Pirates of the Carribean- Dead Man's Chest. We didn't get home until 12:30! Then we capped off their visit with another 3 hours at the Airforce Museum the next day. Man was I tired!
We went from the AFM to the mall to reward me for my patience with my siblings this weekend, where I bought my new Vera Bradley bag. I must say it's very cute. I'll post a picture later when Blogger is functioning properly. Then we headed over to London to visit with Kendall's grandparents who are in from South Dakota to see Annaliese. Spent the evening having dinner there.
Yesterday we had at-home massages that we'd purchased for each other's birthdays. One of the nurses Kendall works with will come to your house with her table and hot stones for 60 bucks an hour. Let me tell you, it was worth it. The fact that afterwards, I got to just lay on my couch like a blob was much nicer than having to drive home and just get all tense again. We will definitely have her over to the house again and if anyone would like her name and number, she's well worth the money. She's even based further south for those of you in Cincy. Then we had Kendall's family over for dinner. The whole gang came and we ate grilled food and played Greed, which everyone had a great time with.
Today we had a family photo taken. All of the Erdahl's got dressed up and headed to Troy to have our pictures taken with Anna. I'm really hoping they come out well. Kendall and I had a shot of ourselves taken alone too that will hopefully come out nice. The funniest part of the whole shoot was that Anna was being uncooperative for most of it....unless Uncle Kendall was nearby. We've now deemed him the Baby Whisperer because literally every time Anna gets fussy, if Uncle Kendall holds her she gets quiet. So we were watching Anna and her parents get all of these pictures taken where she was crying or making some funny face. We asked if we could get a picture of the four "kids" and Anna....and sure enough, as soon as Kendall got within her sights, Anna got all cute for the camera. The photographer couldn't get over how cute Anna looked in those shots. Hopefully we'll have one to post here.
Okay, that's enough for now. We still have almost a week of vacation time left to cram fun into. Tomorrow we may hit a double feature at the dollar movies! WHOOO HOOO!

Good Old Ohio Making the Front Page of CNN.com

Go read the article at the link above. It gave me a small chuckle. I've never been to the Moosehead, but I think I might make a trip there now. What a crazy story!
Ps. If this stupid heat wave doesn't stop soon I'm going to kill myself! OYE!
