Nervous

We had another bad month with no good results. If anything, I felt like I was being toyed with because my period was three days late. We're all scheduled to do the basting again this month, but Kendall still has to work out some time off to go.

So my sister-in-law's due date is rapidly approaching. And I was laying in bed tonight thinking about it. And I'm starting to get nervous. Because I'm absolutely terrified that I'm going to hold that little baby in my arms and fall apart. Of course I'm going to love it, and be excited, but I'm so scared that my own anger and jealousy are going to be felt on such a special day. And it's going to be so hard to hide those feelings. Because it just feels so unfair that God won't bless us with a baby.

"Harry La Conch"/All the Good Ones are Taken

So I don't have time for a long post...we're packing and getting ready to head to the airport in a couple of hours, but I figured I'd at least share this little story....

On Tuesday we were at the beach and we were searching for seashells. We found some pretty neat ones and were searching a more secluded part of the beach and ocean than most people. As I was walking along in the water I saw this GINOURMOUS shell and I got really excited. Then I tried to pick it up....it started squirming!!! I dropped and it and started yelling. Kendall and Laura raced over and of course, we made Kendall pick it up. Turns out, there was still a conch inside! I found a live one! I was excited and disappointed at the same time. While I was getting to see a live sea creature up close and personal, I also knew we couldn't keep the amazing shell. Not only is it illegal to take shells that still have a live animals in them, I also just wouldn't have been able to bear the thought of killing something...even if it was slimy and ugly. We offically named him, "Harry La Conch".

Which leads me to my other title for this entry....we then found multiple live sanddollars. Kendall would pick them up with his feet from the bottom and we would hold them just under the surface and watch their little legs move. It was cool...but once again disappointing because we found some pretty big ones. We threw them all back...*sigh* What a shame that even in the ocean all of the "good ones" are taken.....

In Florida

Hey,

Just wanted to let everyone know that we made it safe and sound. Yesterdy we went to Clearwater. We ate lunch and then, go figure, it started raining! We also had fun having a random conversation about John Travolta. Supposedly Clearwater is the national headquarters for Scientology. Who knew? So we kept looking at landmarks asking things like, "Do you think John Travolta satys at the Holiday Inn Express? Do you think he eats Dunkin' Doughnts?" We took a brief walk on the beach in the light rain and then headed back to the Kipps. Had a great day hanging out, watching TV, eatting BBQ and watching Just Friends which we all thought was a hilarious movie.

Today we're going to small beach near the Kipps house and then we're heading further south to a beach that is supposed to have good seashells. Tonight we'll be grilling steaks and eatting homemade french fries. Tomorrow we're off to Busch Gardens...where were going to drink as much free beer as they let us....okay, I may not drink that much.....

If the Kipps have the right connections I'll post some pictures tomorrow morning. Esp the one of their palm tree that Ryan almost killed. It looks like a big stick standing out of the ground! LOL!

Busy week- Long entry!

So I'm really glad that I went up to Cleveland this week, but now that I'm home and have unloaded the car, paid my bills, sorted the mail, read everyones blogs, read my email, vistited my MySpace page, hugged my dogs, and called my brother....I'm tired!

I got up there a day early and just spent some time with my mom and brother. It was nothing exciting. But it was nice to see them. Then we had the viewing on Wednesday, it didn't even look like my great aunt. She looked good, don't get me wrong, but she looked way to young and, for lack of better way to describe it, pink. My grandparents were pretty broken up over her death, but the rest of us really didn't have an attachment and it was good time spent with family. We even went our for dessert afterwards and were making jokes and laughing. I felt bad Jim couldn't come out.

Thursday we went to the funeral at my childhood church. My favorite part was the end of the homily when Fr. Carlin said, "Margaret always like the following saying that best sums up this homily, 'Thanks to those who wish us well, and all the rest can go to hell.'" The whole family cracked up. Had a delicious meal at my Great Aunt Hildegarde's house and saw a lot of family I hadn't seen in a really long time. It was kind of awkward. Then my mom and I went to the outdoor mall in Beechwood. I went to Crate and Barrel and definitly got my fix. I only spent 80 bucks and left with not one, but two, Calphalon pans, 8 placemats, 2 glass serving bowls, and a candle centerpiece that fits around your patio umbrella pole. I asked the ladies at the counter if they knew if one was going in at The Greene in Beavercreek, and they said no, but talks were for one to go in Cincy. YEAH!

Friday was surgery day and it was LOOOOOOOOOOOONG. We had to be there by 7:30 so I got up at 6. Didn't shower b/c I thought we'd be back by 1. That's what the doctors told us. We waited over an hour once we got there to even get him back into a room. Then he had to change and we waited another two hours in pre-op. They wheeled him out at 10 and we were told it would be three hours before he was done. At 12:30 they paged us and we thought he was in recovery....noooo.....they had just started his surgery. We were pissed. So I finally headed up to clean up and he was done by 2. We didn't get to see him until 5:30. We left the hospital at 8:30...it was a long day. Jim's girlfriend, Sarah, rode back with me and we got to spend some good time together. I still don't think we'll be BFF, but I'm getting more used to her. I can't get into it with out crying, but Jim was in HORRIBLE pain. He cried, which made me cry, and my mom cry.

Today we went out and bought him a new mattrass and loaded it into the house. When we went back to see him his ankle was terribly swollen and he was still in bad pain. It was once again awful. I ended up staying later than I had planned and got home at 7.

Needless to say, I've rested, read some People magazine, talked to my family and Kendall, and tomorrow I will do laundry, spend time with the hubby and pack to head to Florida....so i won't post again until the end of next week! Does my traveling ever stop????

Out of Town

Hey guys- I might not be able to post for the rest of this week. I'll be heading up to Cleveland tomorrow. Two reasons...

1. My great aunt died and I'm going to her funeral. I wasn't really close to her so I'm really going to support my grandpa who is taking it kind of hard. I guess he was pretty close to this sister.

2. My brother broke his leg in a car accident (it was all legit) and he needs some pretty serious surgery. He's getting a metal plate and two screws put in his tibia this Friday. I'm going to stay with my mom at the hospital while he's having the surgery and then help her get him home on Saturday.

Needless to say, it's going to be an interesting week. I might get to see a few old friends while I'm up there. And of course I'll get to see my family. I love my immediate family and wish they lived closer...but I also like having my space too! Anyways, I'll be home briefly Sunday and then next Monday at 6am we fly out to the Kipps down in Tampa. So no harassment! My mom only has DIAL UP! *GASP!*

First to Blog! First to Blog!

I could write about the baby shower and how crappy I felt at times. Or I could write about the fact that we didn't do our basting today and might not do it this month since Dr isn't open on Sunday....but it would be more fun to write about dinner tonight.

Since all of the roomies headed out to the porch party tonight and I stayed in, I get to be the first person to write about the "reunion"! Te he!

So all the old college roomies came over and pitched in and we made quite the feast for dinner. We had grilled chicken and grilled veggies. We had bread. We had salad. We had homemade Mac and Cheese. At one point I turned and looked at Viki's plate and said, "Holy crap that's a lot of food!"

Everything was delicious and then on top of that we had Key Lime Cheesecake! YUMMMMM.....

While it felt a little rushed at first, it was still a good meal and good time. I got to hear all about the stripper from last night's "toy" party. They were quite giggly over it. (That's probably the only part I was disappointed I missed.)

The girls have gone off to the porch party now and are supposed to call me at 11 and we'll head to the Fieldhouse. I might even have a tasty beverage while I'm there!

So I had a tasty beverage. And I'm back home now having another. Didn't want to drive drunk. Anyways, Karen was trashed and Viki looked well on her way. I'm sure Sarah F will be by the time she finishes two GIANT Fieldhouse beers. Oh yeah, and I dubbed Karen the "Cup Whisperer" because she was teaching old farts how to play flip cup. "Just a light tap, and FLIP!" LOL! Relived some good times, saw some great people and now I'm going to read People Magazine, drink my wine cooler, and pass out in a safe place...MY BED!

Craptacular

I had kind of a Craptacular day today. It started out okay, but it went from good to bad very quickly...

I actually started the day with a pedicure. It was nice, relaxing, soothing, you name it. And my toes looked pretty afterward. =)

I then spent several hours scouring the city for magnetic picture frames. Can you believe that NO ONE sells them! They must have been a very temporary fad and now they are gone forever. I did also conveniently end up buying some new capri pants and two new skirts....just a bonus for my heavy searching...

Came home and got the dogs and took them to the dog park. The day was still going okay.'

Then I had to call the doctor's office about my IUI.....yeah, that's when things got bad. My doctor is on vacation this month so she referred me to an associate at another office. When I called the new office today to tell them that it was too early for my IUI they were all confused and told me that my old doctor's office had to call to reschedule since I wasn't techinically a patient. I had already been told by my old office that I needed to take care of all the calls. Long story short, the new doctor's office told me all of these things that make me feel like the old doctor is totally wrong. I'm worried we're going to be wasting our money this month. The old doctor didn't send any of my files over so the new one has no clue what's going on and is asking me all of these questions I can't answer....because I'm not a doctor! I ended up having a very nice conversation with a nurse and when I hung up burst into tears. I know some of it is hormones, but I really just felt hopeless.

I called my friend Jessica and spent a good 30 minutes just babbling incoherently through my crying. Basically it all came down to the fact that no one seems to be able to give us an answer. I've kinda lost all hope. I've been trying really hard to get it back this month...but it's pretty much dead. My heart's not into this anymore. I don't know how many more times I can handle being disappointed. And I don't know how much longer I can go without getting answers.

Needless to say, I'm sitting here drinking a mocha frappuccino while Maggie lays on my feet under the desk. I'm pretty much calmed down now, still the occassional sigh, and I'm going to go try and read a book and forget anything I heard today.....Or maybe I'll go watch Pride and Prejudice for the 16th time....*sigh*

Top 5 Quotes of Pride and Prejudice

If you haven't already heard of my obessions with the movie...I've watched it at least 15 times since buying it 2 months ago. Any time I have a bad day, I pop it in the DVD player. Now I'm in the middle of reading the book. This has got to be one of the best love stories I've ever read. It takes my breath away. Jane Austen was a genius. (Plus, it makes me feel very intellectual reading it...hehe!)

5. "Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."

4. "The power of doing anything with quickness is always prized much by the possessor, and often without any attention to the imperfection of the performance."

3. "I love you... most ardently..."

2. "You must know... surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on. "

And the Number 1 "Quotable Quote" of Pride and Prejudice...

1. "You have insulted me in every possible way, and can now have nothing further to say. I must ask you to leave immediately."

Hmmmm....This Blog looks Familiar.....

Have you seen or heard from this woman? I am officially filing a second Missing Blogger's Report.

It has now been 13 days since Sarah posted. If she was 13 payments behind on her car, it would be repo'ed. We don't want to repo your car Sarah...We just want to know you're alive....and so we know whether or not your going to help with the cooking on Saturday....LOL!

CrAzY Last Day

Yeah, so I was all ready to be out of the building by 12. I was clipping along and then other people started coming in and asking me to do things. Needless to say I ended up going out to lunch and then heading BACK to the building. I didn't leave until 2:45 and even then I'm not sure I didn't everything I needed to to actually leave. I just didn't care at that point. UGH!

While out lunching with friends there was a parent of student I had been having difficulties with. She tried to stop me to talk to me, but my good pal Amy told her we had a meeting and she could call me at the school. Needless to say, there was no message when I left at 2:45 and I'm NOT calling her (or checking my work voicemail until August). And since I'm already at home writing this....that means I'm officially on vacation....which means she WON'T be hearing back from me! Let's just say I'll kill my principal if he gives her my home phone number........

Yeah, there was also some other drama going on in the building today which I'm not completely getting the full story on yet. There have been so many stinking rumors going around the building lately. Half of them are true, and the other half we're still speculating on. Lots of people are leaving and moving around in the building. It's craziness. But I do have to say it's still better than Sidney. =)

So now here I am, all sweaty and soooooooo very happy to be done for the year! I'm doing a reading workshop next week with a group of friends Tuesday through Friday and then I'm really done for the summer. Bonus: We get PAID $400 to do this seminar. HECK YEAH!

Random Blogging to Go with my Random Week

I've got so many random things I can write about this week....

1. 8th grade graduation- went smoothly. We were in, out, done! No tears, all smiles. I don't think a single teacher on the team was sad to see this group of kids go.

2. Speaking of graduation...we do a slide show every year and it's really fun to watch. This year the picture of me as a dinosaur made the cut. It's my profile picture, but I'll post it here so you can get the full effect. The kids started cracking up when it came on. I got more laughs than some of the kid shots! It was great! The funniest part was that I orignally took the picture for my brother Billy because I figured he'd laugh...and go figure, he's going to be an 8th grader....

3. Field Day- Today spent the day outside in 80 degree humid temps with the sun blaring down on us the ENTIRE time. It was awful! I'm so drained physically and mentally AND I have sunburn. Most of the day was spent talking to other teachers on my team about how much we wanted the day over with.

4. Maggie has started the annoying habit of PEEING on our bed. She's done it twice in the last two weeks. We had to laundromat TWO comforters. She's been banned from the bedroom when we are not home.

5. Negative Nancy....I just can't help thinking this month isn't going to work either.....grrrrrr....enough on that.

6. Procrastinating is bad. I still have to get prizes for my sister-in-law's baby shower. Any suggestions?
