So here's some info on the origins of our baby name choices...since we're going to day to find out what our child will be....:)
Maxwell
Origin: English
Meaning: Maccus's stream
Further Explanation of the stream: Transferred use of the Scottish surname. The surname comes from a place name on the River Tweed, and mean "Maccus's stream" in Old English. Maccus is the Latin form of the name which might have been Manus or Mack. According to Scottish tradition, Maccus, the son of Unwin or Undweyn, was a Saxon lord, who obtained a salmon pool on the river Tweed near Kelso Bridge. The pool was then called Maccus's wiel (from the Old English "wael" or stream). The adjacent lands got the name, and the descendants of Maccus became known as, "de" Maccuswel, and, subsequently, became the powerful Maxwell family of Dumfriesshire and Galloway. Some Scottish Maxwells claim that they descend from a King Maccus of the Isle of Man. Maxwell House is a brand of coffee.
Famous song with the name Maxwell: Maxwell's Silver Hammer by The Beatles
My favorite part was that they added the coffee to the explanation.... :)
Megan
Origin: Greek or Welsh
Meaning: Pearl or Little Pearl
Additional Info: Megan is a Welsh diminutive form of Margaret, from Greek 'margaron', "pearl", and thus means "little pearl". The form may have been borrowed from, or given rise to such abbreviated forms as Meg, Maggie and Mags. It was the most popular girl's name in Wales in 2006, but fell to 2nd place in 2007.
My favorite part of this name....that our dog and our kid could share a nickname. LOL! We call Maggie "Mags" all the time! Plus, the pearl is my favorite "gemstone"...besides for diamonds of course. :)
MaryJane
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: Mary "bitter" Jane "God is gracious"
Additional Info: A smush of the names Mary and Jane. MaryJane was mostly used during the earlier part of the 20th century, but has fallen out of fashion presumably because it is a slang term for the marijuana plant.
Famous Song with the name MaryJane: What's the New Mary Jane by The Beatles
Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty
My take on this is that I'm going to ignore the "bitter" and focus more on the fact that it's the name of the mother of Jesus. And how could you not say God is gracious for FINALLY giving us this child? And of course, you can't ignore the marijuana reference. But it's okay, because we never smoked it.

I saw lots of "M" names on that list - what, no Martha?!??
I love the name Maxwell, and I have a nephew named that and it's a fun name. MaryJane is my vote for the girl name, very pretty!
You have 2 girls names and only one boys name. So if it is a boy, it is definately Max, eh?!?!
How did the doc visit go? I know, I know - you're not telling us the gender. But did you have a good checkup? Did the baby display him/herself so you can identify the gender?
