This one is for Sarah F

I went to the UD basketball game tonight with Jessica G-J. We had a good time, but I think we scared away the guys sitting around us. Maybe we were too chatty. It wasn't an exciting game, so we had to entertain ourselves by talking about our days and crowd watching.

Throughout the game, Jessica would tease me or ask me questions about the pep band. At one point in the game she said, "Oh! Who is that crazy man running around on the sidelines!" Obviously, it was Willie. He was wearing this god-awful powder blue track suit. Now I will grant him the fact that he wasn't wearing his usual red foam finger, and he wasn't waving any signs at the crowd.

And then the second half of the game arrived......

We had noticed that Willie had changed into a new track suit. Nothing spectacular, it just seemed to be primary UD colors. Then there was a time out with 10 minutes left in the half. Suddenly the band started playing and I see this flashing light coming from across the other side of the arena. Yes, it was Willie. His new track suit had flashing lights glowing from beneath the fabric. It was horrendous. It was Willie.

We decided to leave the game around the 8 minute mark and started heading for the main floor. Not 2 seconds after we step onto the concourse, Willie walks by. So of course, I tap him on the shoulder. He fakes a face of recognition and hugs me, in his scarey track suit. We spent a few minutes talking and to his credit, he did remember my first name if not my last. I must say though, up close his jacket and pants were even scarier.

There are so many things about this that are just not right.....like the fact that I'm now picturing Willie in a light up track suit!
