So I didn't post yesterday because I was so miserable. I have a crusty nose now from all the blowing I've been doing. I'm been on my antibiotic for almost 48 hours and I will say it is helping, but man, this sucks.
I guess it's good that I'm not missing work over it, but I hope this week goes by fast. That way I'm only two days away from my 5 day Thanksgiving weekend.
Speaking of which, I'll offially be making my first Thanksgiving turkey all by myself. I must say I'm a little intimidated. I'm going to keep my mom on speakerphone while I prepare it. Which reminds me, I really should go get a bird.....
Back to blowing my nose....

The best (and the only recipie I have been using for 4 years now) recipie is from Alton Brown. It's on the food network page. It's a brine and bake recipie. FANTASTIC. The gravey is awesome! My family was miserable 2 years ago because they weren't able to make it due to the weather... If you need help/pointers feel free to call. Danny finds the biggest bird possible. 28lbs last year... it barely fit in the oven! It took both dad and me to put it in the oven! My roaster can only hold up to 30lbs...
Glad to hear you don't have to miss work because of the sickies... also glad to hear you're "doing better"...
Sucks to waste sickness on a weekend...
You could make a TURDUCKEN!!!!! :-)
Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine. I was really nervous when I had to make my first turkey (for the kids, while I was working) but it wasn't so tough.
dude, i totally understand about feeling like crap. i'm still coughing up a storm. only plus is that my abs are more toned than they were 2 weeks ago as a result of my hacking...
Turkey is not as intimidating as everyone says. Just relax and have fun with it.
Trey's right, turkey isn't too hard. I was freaking out our first Thanksgiving, but it all went so smoothly...
Hope you're feeling better today.
