Might As Well Jump on the Bandwagon

Everyone else seems to do a "weekend update" so I guess I'll do that for once too. Although I would have blogged about both incidents anyways....but I warn you, this one will be long.

Saturday we went for our second "basting". Let me just say that if it had gone this badly the FIRST day, I would have been very anxious on the second day. Needless to say, this time it hurt. I can't say it was gut wrenching pain, but she jabbed me and I yelled and then she jumped and pulled everything out and had to do it over again. It was not fun.

Came home afterwards and continued watching Veronica Mars on DVD. I haven't said anything about the series in my blog yet....but I LOVE it. We're watching Season 1. Season 2 will come out in August and I can't wait! If you ever want to hear about it, send requests for a blog and I'll be more than happy to devote an entire entry to her. Anyways, we folded clothes, made taco dip, and bought balloons for Jessica G-J's graduation party. Went to the graduation party later that evening. Not a lot of people showed up and everyone bailed by 8PM. I know G-J was disappointed. We stayed longer and ended up playing dominos until 10. I won. Cause I have mad domino skills. Hehe.

Sunday was of course Mother's Day. My m.i.l. called and asked if they could go to church with us. I secretly think she just wanted to spy on us and once again judge me. Kendall and I got into a mild arguement about what he was wearing (He wanted to tuck in his button down while he was wearing jeans. I told him I was married to a 28 year old man, not a 60 year old. I made him change three times.) and I (accurately) predicted that his parents would be overdressed and I would look like the black sheep. I then proceeded to tell Kendall that I guess it was okay because I already knew I was the black sheep of the family....the crazy, liberal, feminist, daughter-in-law that she never thought she would have.

Church went fine and then they came over for lunch. I was feeling bratty so I didn't help make anything. Kendall ended up charring the steaks. So I ate side dishes while everyone else gnawed through the black charcoal they calld T-bones. The in-laws ended up staying and helping us put up our window boxes and then m.i.l. and I went to buy flowers for them. It was an awkward ride without Kendall as a buffer. It usually is. We briefly talked about the "basting". Once again, very awkward. My boxes came out very nice though. Once they grow out they'll be very beautiful. I'll make sure to get a picture on here later.

Had a hilarious conversation with my family on the phone when I called to say Happy Mothers Day and ask a gardening question. My m.i.l. kept staring at me as I laughed and yelled into the cell phone at them all. The whole fam was over my grandparent's. They were yelling and screeching...fighting over the the Gucci purses my grandma was intending to give ME! We all had a good time yelling at each other and in the end, I made out with not one, but TWO Gucci's and a makeup bag to boot! Yeah designer purses!

Ate Chinese food when Dathan and Natalie arrived and then everyone left and we bunkered down for Depserate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy...which, let me tell you, if GW breaks into my G.A. time tonight, I'm going to kill him. I am so excited about the two hour season finale! Oh, and I bought the first season on DVD, so Karen if you want to borrow it let me know. Okay, that's enough.

:) Thanks for the GA offer - i might take you up on it even though i mentioned to Jim we should add it to our list of "to watch" and he was skeptical of it (thinks it's a soap!)

Sounds like you had a fun weekend as well. Sorry to hear that the procedure was so painful. Hopefully you won't have to go through it again. Hugs!

Nice update - what happened on GA on Monday night, though? I missed that one.

Sorry you have a P.I.T.A. m.i.l. My m.i.l.'s great - it's the soon to be former m.i.l. who causes all of the problems...
