Went to the doctor today. Only gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks. I was pretty happy with that.
While I was sitting in the waiting area, I looked down and my feet and what did I see? Swollen ankles! I haven't had swollen ankles a single time throughout this whole stinking pregnancy! And now they look huge! In a matter of one day. WTF? Okay, so they're not huge. They're just a little swollen. But I still have vowed not to wear a single thing that shows them off again until after Nugget is born and they have gone back to their dainty size.
I'm still measuring big/ahead. I'm only 31 weeks and my belly measures 34 weeks. I'm wondering if that means Nugget will come 3 weeks earlier. I'm so conflicted about it. On one hand I'd LOVE if it happened early. I'm so ready to sleep on my back again and it would mean that by Christmas my body would have hopefully recovered enough to enjoy the holiday. Plus we'd have almost 4 weeks experience with a baby before having everyone over to our house. On the other hand that means that my maternity leave from school would be cut shorter on the other side of break. I want it to last as long as possible before I have to go back to work. I don't want to have to pay for extra day care AND I don't want to have to work that much longer til summer vacation.
What's a girl to do?
Oh, and I'll try to think of something else to write about besides baby stuff. I've noticed that my posts have been leaning in that direction and I know it can get boring to read that crap. So I promise to try and be creative in the next few days. Now if only Nugget would stop kicking me in the gut......

absolutely not - i love reading about baby stuff. keep writing!
Dude, do you remember my ankles right before Nicole was born? Here's the link in case you forgot: http://keutsler.blogspot.com/2007/06/some-morning-thoughts.html
i still get shivers looking at it!
If the swelling is starting now i'm forewarning you that you might be in trouble. I went from a size 8 shoe normall to an 11 in the last 2 months of pregnancy. Thank god you can cover it up with long pants and socks!!!
I love the baby stuff! I also love The Office stuff :-) Keep those feet elevated as much as possible and try your best to enjoy the end of your pregnancy. It really is a wonderful time even though you might feel like crap! I'm praying for you that you get the most out of your maternity leave :-)
I like the baby updates, too!! I look forward to them every time I check your blog.
If it makes you feel any better, my ankle (yes, just the one, for obviously different reason than pregnancy!!) swells up if I do anything out of normal - like walk for a couple miles, or run, or otherwise exercise, or b/c it's Monday, etc. Or shower - taking a hot shower does it nearly every night.
When the cool fall weather finally comes, you can wear tall boots (unless they're too restrictive...hmm....). Some of the tall boots that are flat/no heels actually have some room around the ankle. Just a thought. Keep in mind, I don't actually know, I have no real experience with that kind of swelling!!
I'm with Linds - hopefully it'll work out whichever way to let you maximize your maternity leaves. I bet regardless, it's going to be too short.
I totally commented on this the other day and it is not here...
I like the baby updates too!
