ditto.
Love Hippopotamus for Christmas. I also like O Holy Night (Michael Crawford), and Stille Nicht (Vienna Boys Choir). And you forgot to add "Christmas Don't Be Late" by the chipmunks!! ;)

Thanks for posting a Thursday 13. I enjoy reading them.

Thank you for not supporting "Sleigh Ride" with words - I hate when I hear it sung. It stinks. I love it when it's just an orchestra playing - the way Leroy Anderson intended it!

ok, i had never ever heard the hippo song until you introduced it to me at UD- loved it then and still do!

I'm totally with you on the instrumental "Sleigh Ride". Adding words just ruins it.

I would also have to add "O Holy Night" as one of my all time favs.

The best version of Sleigh Ride is one I saw the Milwaukee Symphony do a few years ago. Instead of the trumpet doing the horse whinny at the end, they did it with a tuba, and at full fortissimo!

Love the Hippo song!

I have to add: All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, a childhood fav!
