My last 48 hours...

Have been awful!

Here's what happened....

I got home from work on Thursday to get a phone call from the vet. He said that Morrie has Miniature Schnauzer Hypolipademia. Which basically means that he's not processing the fat from his food, it's just entering into his blood stream. The white we saw in his eyes was probably actually fat build up (I know, gross!). So now Morrie has to go on a high fiber, prescription only, dog food. Also known as "Diet Doggie Food". The problem is that he doesn't really need to be on a diet. So he has to eat more than the recommended dosage on the bag. The only reason he's on the food is because it's low fat and it should help with the hypolipademia. So not only is the food more expensive, but he'll go through it faster than the average dog eatting it. Which is all fine...if it works. There's still the possibility that he'll have to go on several medications for the rest of his life. UGH. It's a good thing I think of my dogs as kids....

Then.......on the way home from buying the expensive diet doggie food, I started to feel icky. I thought I was hungry. So I ordered some Chinese food. Chowed down and.....started to feel worse. By midnight I was suffering from a full-fledged flu. Now fortunately, I didn't actually puke. But I sure felt like i was going to. However, it did come out the other end almost every hour, on the hour, until about 9pm last night. I slept most of the day yesterday and had a pretty bad fever. When I woke up at 9 this morning it was the first time I hadn't felt nauseous in almost two days! I'm actually pretty dizzy right now, probably because I haven't eaten anything since Thursday night. I'm actually getting a very small muffin down me right now. A very big step in the world of the flu. Did mention that I got it from Kendall? Yeah, he had it a week before me, to the DAY! So now I'm worried that I exposed a bunch of people to it.

So if you read this, and you've seen me in the last 7 days, please eat light. And don't eat anything you'd want to eat again any time soon. Like Chinese. Ugggggggghhhhhh!

Oi. I'm glad you're feeling better. I've just had a cold and thought it was miserable (dude. I RARELY get sick, incl colds, which is a good thing b/c I'm a pansy about them).
So...Morrie was litterally up to his eyeballs in fat. oi. And extra fiber means extra outtake...mmmmm.

poor morrie!! my parents have to buy buster prescription food and it's a pain due to cost, etc. but, like you said, pets are like kids and you do what you gotta do.
